The Pengyang County in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region will invest over 1.8 billion yuan on poverty alleviation to lift 21,300 people out of poverty this year, according to Pengyang Poverty Relief Office on Feb. 20.

Centering on cattle and sheep breeding, facility agriculture, traditional Chinese medicine and other competitive industries, the poor villagers will be offered with more financing modes to shake off poverty, said the spokesman for the office.

The county will also accelerate infrastructure construction at poor villages by implementing 58 projects so as to lift 92 poor villages out of poverty by the end of this year, the office said.
