In the first quarter of this year, the export and import volume in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region totaled 7.76 billion yuan, 1.4 times more than the figure of last year during the same period, according to Yinchuan Customs on April 18.

Among the figure, the export and import value totaled 5.63 billion yuan and 2.13 billion yuan respectively, up by 1.7 times and 89.6 percent year on year. The foreign trade between Ningxia and EU, ASEAN and the United States reached 3.61 billion yuan.

The main exported products were mechanical, electrical, labor intensive ones and pharmaceuticals and their export value reached 3.5 billion yuan, according to Yinchuan Customs. The main imported products were crude oil, mechanical and electrical products and manganese ores and their import value totaled 1.38 billion yuan.
