Modern service drives economic growth in Ningxia

In the first three months of this year, the service industry in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region realized an added value of 27.47 billion yuan, up by 8.2 percent year on year. It accounted for 46.7 percent of the GDP in Ningxia and contributed 45.7 percent to the economic growth.

In 2016, the added value of the service industry in Ningxia totaled 143.46 billion yuan, accounting for 45.6 percent of the GDP and contributing 50 percent to the economic growth.

In the past years, Ningxia has laid great emphasis on developing the modern service industry. It released policies and measures in the sectors of talent, finance and big data to support service development.

In 2015, Ningxia established a government-guided specific fund for service development and the fund has raised three billion yuan until now. From 2015 to 2017, Ningxia got national financial support for service development totaling 79 million yuan in 14 sectors.

In 2016, Ningxia allocated 60 million yuan for development of modern logistics, e-commerce, health care and other six sectors. It also plans to invest 200 million yuan in nine sectors of service development including scientific services, information, modern logistics, inspection and certification, care for the aged and so on.
