Wine industry blossoms in Wuzhong

The city of Wuzhong in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region has developed wine industry over the past years with the wine grape planting area totaling 14,067 hectares and 42 chateaus established in the city.

The main production areas in Wuzhong, namely, the Qingtongxia and Hongsibu areas, were entitled the core region of the east piedmont of Helan Mountains, which is universally accepted as an ideal place to produce wine grapes.

The wine grape and wine outputs in Wuzhong totaled 28,000 tons and 18,200 tons respectively in 2016, with a total sale volume of 1.07 billion yuan. Over 140 features wine products were presented and 54 brands were registered during the whole year.
