Men's 400m medley relay
The spotlight was on Michael Phelps this morning, as he and teammates Aaron Peirsol, Brendan Hansen and Jason Lezak broke the world record in the men's 400 meter medley relay. But the big story was Phelp's winning 8th gold medal at the Beijing Games, surpassing fellow US swimmer Mark Spitz for most gold medals at a single Olympics. The US team finished in a time of 3 minutes, 29.34 seconds, but were pushed hard by the Australian squad.The Aussies get silver, with Japan taking bronze.
