Take a look at some of the fond farewells and events which generated column inches in the entertainment world in 2011.

15, "Hong Kong Cinderella" story ends

"Hong Kong Cinderella" Isabella Leong, who parented three children out of wedlock with Hong Kong-based Internet and telecom tycoon Richard Li, said in a statement on Feb. 26 that she had broken up with Li. Leong said she and Li will "raise our children together", but neither party gave a reason for the split nor indicated any financial settlement.

In 2008, Leong met Li on a movie set when she was 19 and he was 41. The following year, Leong gave birth to their first son Ethan in Canada. In July 2010, the former Hong Kong actress gave birth to twin boys in San Francisco. The media is always rife with speculation regarding the pair's romantic relationship.

Richard Li is the youngest son of Li Ka-shing, Hong Kong's richest man. Forbes Rich List 2010 made Li Ka-shing the 14th richest person in the world, with assets of US$21 billion. His son was estimated to have assets of US$1.4 billion.

However, in stark comparison to the Leong-Li split, the 2010 divorce battle between another Hong Kong celebrity couple, Nicholas Tse and Cecilia Cheung, was nothing short of ugly.
