In addition to shaping the sound of the upcoming third instalment of the blockbuster Hunger Games franchise, "The Hunger Games:Mockingjay - Part 1," the New Zealand native will provide the first single for the film and album.

In a statement, Lorde says the soundtrack for the movie is "definitely going to surprise people." The artist's cover of "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" was a breakout hit from the sountrack of the last Hunger Games movie, "Catching Fire."

The new soundtrack will be available this fall, around the same time Lorde will kick off her third national North American tour.

"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1," will be released in theatres worldwide on November 21.
