Just after six months since "Painted Skin: The Resurrection" reached the peak, actor-director Xu Zheng's directorial debut comedy flew even higher with 1.267 billion yuan. It set the new record for Chinese films and became the very first to go beyond the billion yuan mark. After this film, China saw others breaking the barrier every year. In the same year, the 3D re-release of "Titanic" also took 948 million yuan in the Chinese market, stunning film market observers all over the world.
