The biggest winner in 2010 was surely Feng Xiaogang. His earthquake drama "Aftershock" grossed 673 million yuan. Thus, a Chinese film again took the crown from foreign blockbusters. Besides, Feng's sequel of "If You Are the One," grossed 481 million yuan and made the top three of that year. The second highest grossing Chinese film of the year was Jiang Wen's "Let The Bullets Fly," which grossed 661 million yuan and was very well received by critics and audiences.

However, Hollywood blockbusters also exploded in China. James Cameron came back after 12 years since "Titanic" to become a new king of the China film market with "Avatar" by taking a 1.382 billion yuan. "Avatar" became the first film in Chinese market to gross more than 1 billion yuan.
