New Hope Group (NHG), founded in 1982, is one of the largest Chinese agribusiness enterprises. It has more than 400 subsidiaries at home and abroad with over 83,000 employees. Apart from producing feed, pork and other agro produce, NHG is also engaged in such business fields as chemicals, real estate, finance and investment. NHG's total assets amounted to 43.5 billion yuan (US$6.9 billion) by the end of 2011. It raked in 75.4 billion yuan (US$12 billion) in revenue and 3.4 billion yuan (US$540 million) in net profits in 2011. New Hope Group is ranked 146th among the top 500 Chinese companies in 2012.
