Huangshan Mountain (Yellow Mountain)

Located in Huangshan city, south of East China's Anhui Province, Huangshan Mountain (or Yellow Mountain) is famous for its landscape and time-honored culture. It is well known in Asia, even in the world. As the famous saying goes, "a trip to Huangshan renders the trip to the five great mountains", the Yellow Mountain is indeed worth visiting.

There are two routes to climb the mountain: one is from the front of the mountain and the other from the back of the mountain, each providing quite different views.

Start from Yungu Temple at the mountain's rear entrance, the whole trip will take at most 3.5 hours. The trip saves time and labor, but the landscape is very common. Visitors are suggested to choose this route in bad weather conditions.

To explore a better scenery, visitors are suggested to travel from Ciguang Pavilion at the mountain's front entrance, where they will pass scenic spots like Squirrel Jumps over the Heavenly Capital, Giant-fish Peak, Bright Summit Peak, and Flying over Rock and finally arrive at the Beihai Hotel. The whole trip takes at least five hours. After the long trek, you will feel the effort worth it when stunning landscapes come into view.

Travel tips:

1. It is better to wear a thick coat and warm hat on the mountain as there are heavy winds.

2. As there is much rain and snow in winter, visitors are suggested to wear special shoes to prevent slipping.

3. Take the cable car if you cannot bear the tiredness.
