Changbai Mountain

Rising in Antu county in Jilin Province, northeast China, Changbai Mountain is located on the border between China and North Korea. It is regarded as the most famous mountain in the northeast China. Changbai Mountain National Nature Reserve has rich biodiversity and vertical zonal distribution of plants due to the varied topography, soil, weather and other natural conditions. It also bears a great variety of wild animals such as Siberian tiger, black bear, leopard, lynx, otter and sable, many of which are under the state protection.

Generally speaking, there are three routes to hike Changbai Mountain, from the western slope, southern slope or northern slope. The most common way is from the western slope in Songjianghe town. On the way, visitors will pass Tizi River, Qingshi Peak, Jinping Peak, Guanri Peak, Longmen Peak, Baishan Waterfall, Changbai hotspring and virgin forest, and finally arrive at Erdao Baihe town.

Travel tips:

Bring warm clothes as it is always very cool on the mountain. Visitors are also suggested to bring umbrellas or raincoats for unexpected weather.
