Qingming Riverside Landscape Garden

Located on the western shore of the beautiful Longting Lake in Kaifeng is the Qingming Riverside Landscape Garden, a grand historic cultural theme park. It was modeled after the painting 'Qingming Riverside Landscape' by Zhang Zeduan, a famous painter in Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127) of ancient China. It reflected the social customs of ancient China. It was built in July 1992 and opened to the public on October 28th 1998.

The most famous scenic spot is the imperial garden in the park. While entering the imperial tree garden along Bianhe River, you can see a flat bluestone passage and imperial halls between river and tree, both showing imperial art and structure. Strolling in pavilions, you get closer glimpse of how imperial life was one thousand years ago.

Another well-known scenic spot in the Park is the Rainbow Bridge. It is a replica of one of the ten ancient wooden bridges. The bridge is 5-meters (about 16 feet) high. The first bridge was built in 1050, and reconstructed in 1998. Four 9-meter (about 29 feet) high columns, two at either end of the bridge, replicate the poles that were weather vanes during the Song Dynasty.

At each end of the Rainbow Bridge you can see many folk-custom performances. About 1,000 staff employed in the garden wearing different traditional clothes performs for the visitors from 9:00 am to 22:00 pm.
