4. Try the street food.

There is no shortage of amazing street foods no matter where you are in Istanbul. Turkish pizza may be your new favorite: it is a thin crust pizza topped with fresh vegetables rolled up and served hot. Watermelon is popular, but if you really want a local treat, go for the corn on the cob grilled over hot coals with sea salt, or the famed Turkish Delight. This honey based dessert comes in a variety of flavors with assortments of nuts and dried fruits as additives. I encourage you to sample several vendors to find one you cannot live without before making a purchase. The vendors are very friendly and all of them offer samples to potential customers. Bargain with them for a better price; they expect it.
