6. Ferry across the Bosphorus.

Taking the local ferry across one of the world's busiest waterways is a fantastic (and affordable) means to visit Istanbul's other side, and enjoy a quiet half-hour boat ride in the process. The Asian side of Istanbul is home to local markets, parks, and a fantastic coastline walkway. Visitors can also visit the famed Maiden's Tower lighthouse; legend has it that this tower was built to shelter a sultan's beloved daughter from an oracle's terrible prophesy.
