The scenic area, which consists of the areas of Jianmen Pass and Cuiyun Corridor, is a famous cultural and natural heritage site located in Guangyuan City. It became a national 4A scenic spot in 2010.

Jianmen Pass, a strategically important mountain pass in northern Sichuan in ancient times, is well-known for its steep slopes, beautiful scenery and rich historical relics. It witnessed a number of famous battles during the Three Kingdoms period (Wei, Shu and Wu, AD 220-280).

The 5A grade is the highest national standard for tourist attractions in China.
