London event showcases Sichuan’s charm

An event to showcase Sichuan’s rich natural and cultural resources opened in Queen Mary University of London recently.

The event was sponsored by the People’s Government of Sichuan and the Sichuan Association for Exchanges with Foreign Countries.

770 political figures, business people, academics as well as Chinese residing in Britain attended the opening ceremony.

A photo exhibition, staged before the opening ceremony, introduced Sichuan’s stunning natural beauty, unique culture and folk customs, latest economic and social development and Sichuan’s exchanges and cooperation with Britain in recent years to the mainstream society in Britain as well as overseas Chinese through 110 photos.

The art performance during the opening ceremony, featuring folk songs and dances of Yi, Tibetan and Qiang ethnic groups, fully displays Sichuan’s diverse ethnic culture.
