Mt. Emei, Leshan Giant Buddha celebrate anniversary of World Heritage status
Mount Emei and Leshan Giant Buddha scenic areas celebrated the 20th anniversary of their successful application for world heritage status on Dec. 6, 2016. The two scenic areas were included into the UNESCO World Natural and Cultural Heritage list in 1996. The celebration was jointly held by the UNESCO representative office in China, China Association of National Parks and Scenic Sites (CANPSS) and Chinese Academy of Cultural Heritage (CACH).
