Los Angeles will open a new China office in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan Province, at the end of June, according to the U.S. city's tourism and convention board, people.com.cn reported.
This is the organization's fourth office in China after those in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.
The city received a record 7.1 million international visitors in 2016, up 3.5 percent over the previous year, and China accounted for 75 percent of the growth.
This made Los Angeles the first U.S. city to have over 1 million visitors from China.
