More than 1,000 Buddhist monks gathered in Emei Mountain on February 10 to practice a time-honored ceremony for the purpose of charity. Each wearing a straw hat and a Buddhist robe and holding an alms bowl in hand, the monks walked to collect donations from Buddhist followers along the way, in imitation of what the Buddha did in his life. The money collected would go to the Emei Mountain Xingyuan Charitable Foundation. [Photo/official website of Emei Mountain]
