Shiqu County in Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan, took part in the China Fashion Week in Beijing in late March with a series of activities featuring costumes of the nomadic tribe in Shiqu.

This is the first time for Tibetan clothes to show in the international fashion week.

The costumes on show featured a mixture of fashion and traditional culture of Tibetans.

Shiqu expected participation in the event to promote its ethnic culture and attract more attention in the hope of wooing investment.

Shiqu boasts a long history, rich Tibetan Buddhist culture, famous national-level intangible cultural heritage, and the largest livestock raising area in Sichuan. It is dubbed “the world’s most beautiful wetland,””the Kingdom of Stone Carving,” and “the Tribe of the Sun.”It is a holy place still in its pristine state, arousing people’s desire to lift its mysterious veil.
