Dragon boat open in Jianyang to celebrate traditional festival

Jianyang, a county administered by Chengdu, organized a dragon boat open race on May 27 and 28 to welcome the Dragon Boat Festival which falls on May 30 this year.
The race took place on the Tuojiang River in Jianyang’s urban area. Twenty-eight teams from both in and out of Jianyang took part in the event which consisted of a 200-meter straightaway competition and a 500-meter straightaway competition.
To create a higher festival spirit, the organizers also arranged sacrifice offering performance, dancing to drum playing, group Taiji practicing and cultural performance on the occasion.
