A Sichuan delegation of more than 20 enterprises organized by Sichuan Provincial Tourism Development Committee and Sichuan Tourism Association took part in the 9th China International Tourism Commodity Fair that opened in Yiwu, Zhejiang on May 26.
The attendance is aimed at exhibiting Sichuan’s tourism commodities, expanding source markets and seeking cooperation through exchanges.
Elements of the two ethnic minorities of Tibetan and Yi are featured at the Sichuan stand, where over 200 commodities were on show.
The province’s tourism commodities rolled out under the “Sichuan: Hometown of Giant Panda and the Land of Abundance”brand, including food, culturally creative products and tech products, were widely watched and praised.
Another highlight of the Sichuan stand is the Egg Home, a mobile hotel. The ingenious, environmental-friendly, solid and portable living quarters received numerous business inquiries. It reflected Sichuan’s efforts to accelerate the application of new technology in tourism.
Li Jinzao, head of the National Tourism Administration, visited the Sichuan stand with great interest, recognizing Sichuan’s application of the new concepts of innovation, technology, green development and environmental protection in designing its tourism commodities.
In recent years, the provincial tourism development committee has conscientiously implemented the innovation-driven development strategy by promoting technological renovation and application in tourism development and leading and guiding the development and marketing of new tourism commodities. The efforts have achieved good results.
