A show of Zigong’s lanterns to be displayed during a mid-November trip of Sichuan’s intangible cultural heritages to the United States was staged on the banks of Huanhua Brook, Chengdu on August 2.

The lanterns will grace the 54-day Third Magical Winter Lights in Houston, an outdoor lantern festival scheduled to open at the city's Gulf Greyhound Park in Houston in November, during the trip.

Either in shapes of distinctive Chinese elements such as giant panda and dragon’s head or in shapes of characteristic elements of Houston like rocket, the uniquely-designed lanterns will start to greet festival goers on November 10.

In its first cooperation with Sichuan provincial and Chengdu municipal associations of intangible cultural heritages, the Third Magical Winter Lights festival will be divided into several themed sections including Magical Wonderland, Holiday Market Square, Dinosaur Land, Mystery of the East, Man and Nature, and Landmarks of the World.

Altogether 100 sets of lights representing 100 eye-catching scenes will be on show.
