Important revelations of the October Revolution: to uphold and develop socialism with Chinese characteristics

We must uphold socialism unswervingly. The importance of the October Revolution to the development of Chinese society, in the first place, lies in guiding China onto the road of socialism. This is the fundamental reason for the development and progress of contemporary China. Comrade Xi Jinping has stressed that socialism with Chinese characteristics is socialism rather than any other doctrine. No matter how we reform and open up, the socialist nature of this road cannot be altered. Only socialism can save China, and only socialism with Chinese characteristics can develop China. This is a historical conclusion and a decisive choice of the Chinese people.
We must adhere to the basic principles of Marxism and the concrete realities of China unswervingly. While leading the October Revolution, Lenin pointed out that dealing with problems case by case is the living soul of Marxism, and formulated a scientific attitude towards Marxism. Our Party has always maintained and developed this scientific attitude. Socialism with Chinese characteristics is a dialectical unity of the theoretical logic of scientific socialism and the historical logic of China's social development. Rooted in China, socialism with Chinese characteristics stands as a scientific socialism reflecting the will of the Chinese people and adapted to the requirements of development and progress of China and the era. As long as we insist walking this road independently and upholding and developing socialism with Chinese characteristics unswervingly, we will surely be able to achieve our goals.
We must adhere to developing Marxism with the times unswervingly. The October Revolution is a model for the development of Marxism. Our Party has inherited the tradition from Lenin. Our adherence to the tradition of the forefathers and the extension on this basis through new expressions comprise our theoretical achievements in adapting Marxism to Chinese conditions. This includes Mao Zedong Thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory and the important thought of the Three Represents, and the Scientific Outlook on Development. The fundamental reason why we have been able to make new achievements and break new ground since the 18th CPC National Congress lies in the strong leadership of the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, and the scientific guidance of his important speeches. These speeches have upheld and developed scientific socialism in a creative manner and opened up a new frontier for the development of Marxism in China in the 21st century.
We must adhere to the "Matters of Confidence" unswervingly. The Bolshevik Party led by Lenin was able to crush the imperialist siege and establish and consolidate the Soviet regime because of their firm belief in communism, and the self-consciousness and self-confidence of the communists in their lofty cause. The most important point in commemorating the October Revolution today is that we must hold firm to our ideal and faith, and have confidence in our path, guiding theories, political system, and culture. We should constantly draw on wisdom and strength from history, stay true to the mission, and keep moving forward on the road of upholding and developing socialism with Chinese characteristics based on the new conditions of the era.
