Hangzhou is the capital of and largest city in Zhejiang province and is its political, economic and cultural center. With enchanting natural beauty and abundant cultural heritage, the city is known as 'Heaven on Earth.' Situated at the southern end of the Grand Canal of China, Hangzhou is a core city of the Yangtze River Delta and only 180 kilometers from Shanghai. Hangzhou's economy has developed rapidly since its opening up in 1992.
