Day 2: Dujiangyan-Wenchuan County
Luobozhai
Itinerary:
Set out from Dujiangyan and take the Dujiangyan-Wenchuan Highway. It takes three hours to arrive at Wenchuan.
Highlights:
Luobozhai (Radish Fortress Village): Luobozhai was once the capital of the ancient Qiang King. With a history of 5000 years, it is so far the biggest and oldest yellow-mud Qing fortress village.
Three-river Ecotour Scenic Area: Located in southwestern Wenchuan county, the area is named after the three rivers (Xihe River, Zhonghe River and Heishihe River) which met here. The scenic area features not only natural scenery, but also Tibetan and Qiang folk culture and the Ancient Tea and Horse Road.
Shuimo Ancient Town: The town’s history can be traced to the Shang Dynasty. After being rebuilt, it now features a fantastic mixture of Tibetan, Qiang and Han architecture. Cultural sights, mountain and river sceneries as well as countryside views can all be found in the town.
