Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo

The former president of the Philippines Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo was arrested in a hospital in Metro Manila in November. She has been charged with electoral sabotage during the 2007 national elections. Macapagal-Arroyo appeared pale and distressed on TV as she was shown sitting in a wheelchair after the warrant had been served. Five years ago, she issued a pardon to her predecessor Joseph Ejercito Estrada who had been convicted of plunder. Little did she know that her successor Benigno Aquino III would bring charges against her. It seems that the dirty and corrupt world of Filipino politics has a real terminator to contend with now.
