After Tiger Mother Amy Chua, Wendi Deng Murdoch was dubbed "Tiger Wife" by the US media after her reaction to a sudden attack on her husband, News Corp Chief Executive and Chairman Rupert Murdoch. The attack happened at a parliamentary committee hearing on phone hacking in London on July 19, 2011. At the hearing, Mrs Murdoch nimbly leapt off her chair and swung her right arm to protect her husband, slapping the attacker in the face. Her heroic action not only prevented the attack on the media mogul's reputation, but has also come to represent a perfect symbol of their marriage. Thanks to her tough and assertive personality, Deng helped corrected some stereotypes of Asian wives. After all, "tiger wife" sounds more flattering than "gold digger".
