China Reiterates Stance on E. China Sea
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang on Thursday reiterated that China is willing to resolve the East China Sea issues between China and Japan through dialogue. China and Japan have not drawn border demarcations in the disputed although Japan once unilaterally announced a median line, which was not accepted by China.
Gazprom, CNPC Mull Cross-Border Gas Pipeline
OAO Gazprom, the world's biggest natural gas producer based in Moscow, said it is in talks with China's largest oil and gas producer China National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC) to export gas to China through a cross-border pipeline.
EU Sets Textile Anti-Dumping Duties
On September 17, the European Union began to impose anti-dumping duties ranging from 14.1 percent to 56.2 percent on certain finished polyester filament fabrics from China. The decision was made after a nine-month investigation into the effect of these goods on the European market.
Princess Anne Visits China
Britain's Princess Anne arrived in China on Tuesday and met with with Chinese Vice-President Zeng Qinghong. This is Princess Anne's first visit here, which ends on September 24.

4th Round of Six-Party Talks Ends
The fourth round of six-party talks on the Korean Peninsular nuclear issue ended on Monday with a plenary meeting of the six delegations. A joint statement, adopted at the meeting, says the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is committed to abandoning all its nuclear weapons and existing nuclear programs.
Mid-October Liftoff for Shenzhou VI
China's second manned space mission is scheduled for liftoff in mid-October, the country's first man in space, Yang Liwei, said at an exhibition on Saturday. The Shenzhou VI mission is supposed to last five to seven days and astronauts will use the craft's orbit capsule for the first time, Yang revealed.

To mark the September 18 Incident 74 years ago, air-raid sirens sounded at 9:18 p.m. on Sunday in Shenyang City, capital of northeast China's Liaoning Province. On the same day, several other official and non-official activities were held in different parts of China.

President Hu Jintao said on Thursday that UN reform, a hot topic at the world body's 60th anniversary summit, should be realized through democratic consultation in an active and prudent manner. "China is firmly committed to UN reform," he said, adding that the country "stands ready to join hands with other member states in ensuring that the progress of the reform is sound."
China Win 4th Consecutive Asian Basketball Championship
China defeated Lebanon 77-61 in the 23rd Asian Basketball Championships for men on Friday to win their fourth-consecutive title of the tournament. The two, along with third-placed Qatar, claim the berths for next year's World Championships.
