Central Bank Warns of Investment Rebound
In its annual monetary policy report released on Thursday, the People's Bank of China (PBOC) warned of the possibility of a rebound in fixed investment, the rapid growth of which was diagnosed as a major contributor to economic overheating. The bank also pointed to persistent inflationary pressures, noting that mounting upstream prices are already being passed on to consumers.
Clinton Visit Promotes HIV/AIDS Cooperation
Yesterday, the former US President Bill Clinton signed an HIV/AIDS treatment cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Health in Beijing. He was visiting after a tour of countries affected by December's tsunami.
